Cat Mail Co launched on Steam July 9, 2026. Maracas Studio shipped Patch #1 (July 11), Patch #2 (July 16), and Patch #3 (July 17) with respawn, offline launch, lobby/re-host fixes, parcel physics repairs, and save-slot polish. Community reports still cluster around loading loops, co-op disconnects, and physics-related frame drops — not corrupted saves or permanent account issues.

The most reported launch-week bug is a loading bar that stalls or a black screen that never reaches the main menu. Cat Mail Co checks Steam Cloud, multiplayer services, and local config files during startup — any conflict can freeze the sequence.

1. Launch offline: Close the game, disconnect internet, open Steam in Offline Mode, and start Cat Mail Co. If it loads, Steam Cloud sync or network auth was the blocker.
2. Verify game files: Steam Library → Cat Mail Co → Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files.
3. Disable overlays: Turn off Steam, Discord, and GeForce Experience overlays before launching.
4. Delete local config: Remove corrupted AppData config folders, then relaunch so the game rebuilds fresh settings.
5. Update GPU drivers: Perform a clean install of your latest NVIDIA or AMD driver if loading hangs after the logo screen.

"Connection Failed" during online co-op is usually a version mismatch, firewall block, or launch-day server traffic — not a broken save. All four players must run the same Steam build.

Cat Mail Co simulates every parcel as a physics object. Busy post offices with large floor piles trigger CPU and GPU spikes — especially when stamping or stacking many boxes simultaneously.

• Switch to exclusive fullscreen instead of borderless windowed for better frame pacing.
• Cap FPS at 60 (or 40 on Steam Deck) to stabilize physics timing.
• Disable MSAA on lower-end hardware; keep downscale resolution unchecked on Deck for sharper edges.
• Clean up stray parcels stuck under shelves or wedged in corners — each one adds physics calculations.
• Set Windows power plan to High Performance during long sorting sessions.

Physics glitches can trap your cat postmaster inside walls, under stacked parcels, or behind locked doors. Patch #1 (July 11, 2026) added a Respawn button to the pause menu that teleports you to a safe location without losing shift progress.

Open the pause menu → select Respawn. If the button is missing, confirm you are on the latest build via Steam update history. Avoid saving while clipped inside geometry — respawn first, then continue sorting.

Steam Deck players may need to force Proton 10.0-4 in game properties if the title fails to boot on the default compatibility layer. Map stamp mode (F key) to a rear paddle using the Keyboard + Mouse template — native controller support is planned post-launch.
