Cat Mail Co Launch Updates

Cat Mail Co launch timeline and July 2026 patch notes — Patch #1–#3, Supporter Pack status, Steam rating, storage tags, and post-launch fixes through mid-August 2026.

Steam Launch — July 9, 2026

Cat Mail Co officially launched on Steam on July 9, 2026 after surpassing 200,000 wishlists within a month of announcement. Maracas Studio and publisher Gamersky Games released the full game at $14.99 / €14.99 with a 15% introductory discount that ran through July 23, 2026.

As of mid-August 2026 the storefront shows a Very Positive rating (about 94% English reviews across thousands of Steam purchasers). The free Steam demo remains available with full save transfer. See our Demo & Launch Bonus guide for transfer and Supporter Pack details.

Supporter Pack — Now Paid DLC

The free Supporter Pack window closed on July 16, 2026. Players who purchased Cat Mail Co during the first launch week (July 9–16) received the pack at no extra cost. The Cat Mail Co. Supporter Pack is now sold separately on Steam as paid DLC (often discounted from the €4.99 / $4.99 list price).

The Supporter Pack contains:

  • Original soundtrack — all 7 original tracks
  • Digital artbook — 22-page PDF with concept art and a team cat gallery
  • Wallpapers — desktop backgrounds from the game
  • In-game supporter plaque — display in your post office

The pack is a collector's bonus and does not affect gameplay progression. Early buyers who missed activation should verify DLC is enabled in Steam properties — see the July 10 fix below. Our Review covers whether the base game alone justifies the purchase.

Supporter Pack Fix — July 10, 2026

On July 10, 2026, Maracas Studio confirmed that Supporter Pack activation issues were resolved for players who purchased the correct bundle.

  • Enable DLC: Verify Cat Mail Co. Supporter Pack is checked under Steam Library → Properties → DLC.
  • Wrong bundle: Email hello@maracas-studio.com for a manual Steam code if you bought an incorrect package.

Full activation steps are in our Demo guide Supporter Pack section.

Patch Note #1 — July 11, 2026

Maracas Studio published the first gameplay patch on July 11, 2026.

  • Respawn button: Added to the pause menu if you get stuck in the world.
  • Cold & hot room piles: Reduced parcel counts in temperature room backlogs for easier onboarding.
  • Boat storage: Expanded deck space for outgoing shipments — see our Boat Loading guide.
  • Captain dialogue timer: Extended delay between captain conversations for less rush during dusk loading.
  • Break room key: Fixed key not respawning when loading a save that should already have it unlocked.
  • Offline play: Fixed a bug requiring an active Steam connection to launch.

Quality-of-life changes directly affect Cold Room backlog clearing and evening boat workflows.

Patch Note #2 — July 16, 2026

Patch #2 shipped on July 16, 2026 and also updated the Steam demo. Focus areas: clearer visual feedback, boat storage variety, faster late-stage pile clearing, and multiplayer/save fixes.

  • Main pile VFX: Smoke effect when revealing the next stage of the main pile.
  • Faster pile finish: Piles empty more quickly when only the last two levels remain.
  • Boat storage types: Tweaked existing boat storage and added new types for more flexible loading — see Boat Loading.
  • Lovers VFX: Reworked the lovers particle trail so the partner hunt is clearer — see Lovers Parcels.
  • All cleaned up (co-op): Invited guests can now unlock the achievement; reload an affected save if it was missed.
  • Demo save pile size: Fixed huge main piles when loading demo saves into the full game.
  • Lobby cleanup: Players who leave are removed correctly; counters no longer open incorrectly at dusk/dawn when someone disconnects.
  • Misc: Repair-room popup no longer appears when opening the break room; rare shift-summary soft locks fixed; playtime above 24 hours displays correctly.

Patch Note #3 — July 17, 2026

Patch #3 (July 17, 2026) is the latest official gameplay update as of mid-August 2026. Maracas Studio noted a short holiday break after this build while still collecting feedback.

  • Storage tags: Additional shelf/storage tags to organize inventory more clearly — pair with Beginner Tips and Items & Tools.
  • Secondary pile VFX: Smoke effect when clearing secondary piles.
  • Faster late piles: Further speed-up when emptying the last two pile levels.
  • Save slot order: Newest saves now appear at the top of the list.
  • Demo key migration: Old demo saves now receive the bright and dark keys when upgraded.
  • Parcel physics: Fixed parcels stuck in the customer area, undersized stacked parcels handed to customers, and dock respawn glitches near the main pile.
  • Lobby re-host: Fixed lobby breaking after the host leaves and hosts again.
  • Polish: Minor localization fixes and lovers VFX cleanup.

Current Status — August 2026

More than a month after launch, Cat Mail Co remains Very Positive on Steam with active community guides for parcel identification, lovers pairs, and all 17 Steam achievements. The latest official patch is still Patch Note #3 (July 17).

Pricing: base game list price stays $14.99 / €14.99; the launch 15% discount ended July 23. The Supporter Pack is paid DLC and frequently appears in Steam sales.

Still useful: free demo with save transfer, 1–4 player co-op, and the full day/night postal loop. Persistent community pain points — infinite loading, co-op disconnects, physics stutter, missing native gamepad — remain documented in our Troubleshooting Guide.

Supported Game Languages

Known Issues After Launch

Patches #1–#3 cleared many launch bugs, but players still report friction in a few areas:

  • Infinite loading screens: Try Steam Offline Mode, verify files, disable overlays — see Troubleshooting.
  • Co-op disconnects: Keep every client on the same build; after Patch #2/#3 lobby leave/re-host is more stable, but firewalls still matter — see Co-op Guide.
  • Performance stutter: Cap FPS, clear floor piles, use exclusive fullscreen.
  • No native controller: Keyboard/mouse still required; Deck users rely on keyboard templates via Proton.
  • Stuck parcels: Patch #3 fixed several customer-area and dock physics cases; use the pause-menu respawn if you get stuck in geometry.

Report bugs through Steam Discussions or the official Maracas Studio Discord.
